The T13 Project
“T13” stands for “Towards 13 microns”. It is an ambitious breeding project aiming to produce flocks of sheep with a very low micron, without compromising other traits, over the next few years.
It is carried out by a consortium of six of Australia’s finest flocks and the CSIRO at Armidale NSW. Each flock has selected a group of the genetically finest ewes and rams. Cross linking sires are used to evaluate all contributed stock.
The consortium is comprised of the CSIRO T13 flock, Europambela, Glenrannoch, Grindon, Legerton, Mirani, and Yalgoo.
